• Compliance with appropriate GAAP/GAS/OMB standards and regulatory requirements. Will oversee staff obligations to provide accurate and timely monthly consolidated financial reports to management.

• Manage and review accounting functions including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable/cash receipts and payroll. Coordination of external payroll system to ensure proper recognition in the financial records.

• Oversee preparation of monthly financial close-outs, including journal entries and bank account reconciliations. Oversee and manage the grant drawdown process. Monitor, track, and reconcile restricted, unrestricted and/or endowment funds.

• Ability to analyze, tract, and adjust a variety of accrual and liability accounts, and establish processes to integrate these adjustments into staff closing activities.

• Create and maintain financial policies, in conjunction with the Executive Directors, which ensure internal controls and safeguards for revenue receipts, inventory, and program expenditures. Ensure staff adhere to practices and procedures.

• Oversee routine financial functions including payroll processing, disbursement check runs, revenue administration, bank deposits, sales tax reporting or 1099 preparation.

• Oversee corporate credit card usage, ensuring monthly reconciliations with corresponding receipts are completed. Review finance department purchases of all materials, supplies and equipment.

• Work with senior management in the development of detailed annual budgets. Communicate and manage organizational and individual program budget variances.

• Experience with managing staff, including oversite of monthly closing procedures, process improvement and action plan development, and staff performance evaluation.

• Provide timely financial reporting to senior management and board of directors; communicate financial statement results, cash flow, budgetary impacts and financial projections.

• Manage and coordinate the annual financial audits preparation along with management response to support external financial and compliance audit and grantor reviews. Prepare all necessary financial reports, account reconciliations and supporting schedules. Serve as main contact for auditors.

• Performs related duties as assigned by the Executive Directors.
