Nature of Work
This position is in the sub-recipient monitoring and compliance unit of the Bureau for Public Health. This unit reviews all sub-grants as required by DHHR policy, does all site visits and desk reviews as is required by the Federal Funding sources for sub-recipients, represents the Bureau in all Federal site visits/audits for Federal Grants, and works with DHHR Central Finance in providing information for the State annual audit. This position is expected to review all sub-recipient grants that are given out by BPH. This section focus is to ensure sub-grantee compliance with Federal, State and DHHR guidelines for grantees to continue receiving funding. The volume of grants within the Bureau has increased steadily over time and with the COVID pandemic in the last two years, the number of sub-grants has increased drastically.
Minimum Qualifications
Training: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with at least 24 semester hours in accounting.
AND
Experience: Two (2) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in professional accounting, statutory accounting or auditing work.
OR
Substitutions: (1) Master's degree in accounting may substitute for the required experience. (2) Certification or registration as a Public Accountant in West Virginia may be substituted for the training and required experience.
