SALARY RANGE: $53,000-$63,000 with competitive benefit package.


1) Provides general oversight of day-to-day accounting operations.
2) Performance of a variety of complex general and specialized accounting duties related to municipal financial operations.
3) Ensures that various internal control policies and activities, as established by the Director of Finance, are implemented and adhered to by accounting staff and other City personnel.
4) Prepares a variety of financial reports for municipal, state, and federal agencies.
5) Management of the general ledger to ensure that all statement of net position and statement of activities accounts and related subsidiary ledgers of the City’s governmental, proprietary, and fiduciary funds are balanced on a monthly basis.
6) Oversees and provides support for gathering requested information for the annual audit as well as other contracted firms or government agencies.
7) Reviews and updates the allocation bases of indirect costs to the various governmental departments.
8) Direct supervision of departmental staff for the accounting, billing and receivables, accounts payable, payroll, inventory, and fixed asset functions of the finance department.
9) Supervise the reconciliation of the various cash accounts and pension investment accounts to the general ledger.
10) Manages and delegates the actions required for the City’s general liability insurance plan (filing claims, prepares rolling stock list and active driver list, prepares insurance renewal information for agent, etc.) with the assistance of subordinate staff as necessary.
11) Provides information to assist the Finance Director with the preparation of the City’s annual operating budget for all governmental, proprietary, and fiduciary funds.
12) Makes recommendations to the Director of Finance regarding assignment, scheduling, supervision, hiring, performance evaluation, and discipline of departmental personnel.
13) Serves as proxy to the Director of Finance when needed, including executing all functions of the Director including approval authorities when deemed necessary for delegation.
14) Performs other related duties as assigned.


Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration preferred. Minimum of three (3) years of management-level experience or any equivalent combination of education, experience and training.
