DESCRIPTION: The BIGC (Business / Industry / Government / Consulting) Commitee of the WVSCPA is presenting a 5 part series on Technology and Artificial Intelligence in the Accounting Practice. \n  \nThe first session of this series will begin on Thursday\, August 20\, 2026 and registration is open.  \n  \nThese sessions will be one-hour virtual sessions available to all members. \n  \nFuture Sessions are as follows: \n  \nSecond Session - September 22\, 2026 / 12:00 pm \n  \nThird Session - November 5\, 2026 / 12:00 pm - In-Person Session at Marshall University \n  \nFourth Session - February 16\, 2027 / 12:00 pm\n  \nFifth Session - May 18\, 2027 / 12:00 pm \n  \nSpeaker Bio: \n  \nJoe Sams is a veteran leader and entrepreneur in the technology industry. With more than 30 years of experience in the IT industry and over 20 years in executive leadership\, Joe has dedicated his career to helping organizations leverage technology to drive growth\, resilience\, and innovation. As the President and Founder of Biztec\, a regional managed service provider\, he leads initiatives in strategic IT consulting\, cybersecurity\, cloud infrastructure\, AI-powered physical security systems\, and digital transformation. Throughout his career\, Joe has worked with organizations across healthcare\, finance\, education\, manufacturing\, government\, and other industries\, leading large-scale infrastructure deployments and helping businesses build secure\, scalable technology environments. His expertise focuses on aligning technology with business strategy to support long-term growth\, operational efficiency\, and an increasingly mobile workforce. Joe holds an MBA from West Virginia University and a bachelor's degree in business administration from Ohio Valley University. He is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and maintains multiple technology certifications in cybersecurity\, cloud technologies\, and physical security. Joe is also the author of The WV-Tech Guy blog\, where he shares practical insights on technology\, entrepreneurship\, and business leadership.
