Description

The 2023 Federal Tax Update course will stay virtual for this year based on your feedback.  We will offer one course for all attendees on Thursday, November 30 and Friday, December 1, 2023. 

This will be presented virtual via ZOOM and hosted from Tax Speaker's broadcast studio.  You can still ask questions, live, during the event just as if you are in-person and the speakers will answer them live as well.

ATTENDEES ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR MAKING SURE THEY CAN ACCESS ZOOM AND ARE USING A WEB BROWSER THAT WILL ALLOW THEM TO RECEIVE POLL QUESTIONS FOR CPE PRIOR TO THE START OF THE MEETING.

Objective: To enable all tax practitioners to identify and solve client tax problems before tax season starts. Tax planning ideas and strategies are emphasized.

Federal Tax Update-Individual - Upon completion of this course you will be able to inform clients of the latest modifications from Congress, as well as other relevant IRS Notices, announcements, rulings, and court cases for individuals. Participants will be able to explain changes affecting expiring federal tax provisions, income & deduction issues, IRAs, retirement distributions & penalties, passive activities, and unusual items such as passive activities. The course will cover the most common 1040 issues and will provide attendees with practical, hands-on tools for the upcoming season.<?xml:namespace prefix="o" />

Federal Tax Update-Business - Upon completion of this course you will be able to advise clients about the latest C and S Corporation tax changes, as well as LLC changes and you will be able to explain the latest changes in tax law to your business clients, as well as differences in entity types. Participants will be able to provide clients with the characteristics, advantages, and disadvantages of LLC’s and inform clients of the various characteristics and tax implications of the S corporation form of business entity. The course will include the latest modifications from Congress as well as other relevant IRS Notices, announcements, ruling and court cases for corporations, S corporations, and entities taxed as partnerships and discussion of common compliance issues encountered during this year’s tax preparation season.

Speaker Bio: Ron Roberson will join us again in 2023.  Ron is a well-known tax lecturer who has more than 22 years of experience teaching throughout the United States. Ron annually speaks to thousands of tax professionals about the latest business and personal tax law developments, using his sense of humor and friendly speaking style to keep people coming back year after year. In addition to authoring multiple tax articles and manuals, Ron also continues to work with his partner in a tax and accounting practice in Sonora, California. Ron includes real life examples from his practice to make tax issues come alive and help complicated subject matter make more sense.
