Annual CPE and Events

The Society offers many annual events for members, legislators and students, as well as annual CPE and special events open to the public.

Below is a list of annual CPE and events that are offered by the WVSCPA.  To view and/or register for our currently scheduled course and/or events, click here.

Annual Meeting

The Society sponsors an annual meeting at the historic Greenbrier Resort. The annual meeting promotes both continuing education and fellowship. Members will receive event details and registration in the mail in March-April.

Committee Day

Committee Day allows our committee members come together to network and plan their yearly projects. Registration is open to WVSCPA members only and details will be sent to members in the spring.

Educators' Conference

The Society, in conjunction with the West Virginia Council of Accounting Educators, sponsors an annual three-day Educator's Conference each September. Details and registration, when made available, are on the CPE course listings page.

Financial & Estate Planning Seminar

Presented by the WVSCPA, the WV Bankers Association, and the State Bar, this seminar is concerned with financial and estate planning topics geared to meet the interests of bank trust officers, CPAs, attorneys, insurance agents, and financial planners. It has been offered annually for over twenty years, and is the only WV event that attracts all of these professionals on these subjects. This event takes place in May and details and registration will be posted on the CPE course listings page when available.

Legislative Seminar & Reception

The annual legislative reception gives WVSCPA members a chance to meet representatives one-to-one and discuss their concerns and issues. The event takes place in January-February and registration will be available after the first of the year on the CPE course listings page.

Meeting with State Tax Department

The Society offers the annual Meeting with the State Tax Department to WVSCPA members free of charge, annually in May. This event provides Society members the opportunity to ask questions about issues related to tax administration in WV and about the Office of Tax Appeals. Details and registration will be posted on the CPE course listings page in April.

Recruiting Fair

The Society sponsors an annual recruiting fair during the fall where students and employers are brought together. We also provide a yearly recruiting directory which lists firms that are seeking interns or staff.  For more information on the Recruiting Fair, visit www.wvscpa.org/students.   

Small Practitioners' Roundtables

Each fall the Society's Sole Practitioners and Small Firm Development Committee sponsors a series of Small Firm Roundtable Discussions throughout the state. These events are free to WVSCPA members and details will arrive by email; registration will be made available on the CPE course listings page.

Technology Conference

Annually, K2 Enterprises delivers a two-day conference covering the most up-to-date information about new technology developments. This multi-track conference meets the technology needs of those in public practice and industry. Registration and details are typically posted on the CPE course listings page in August.

WV Tax Institute

The WV Tax Institute holds its annual meeting each fall.  Visit http://www.wvtaxinstitute.com/ for information and registration.

WV HFMA

Visit http://www.wvhfma.org/ to learn about CPE opportunities in healthcare financial management available throughout the year from this organization.
