Legislative Relations & Awareness

The WVSCPA works on behalf of the Society to support legislation which is in the best interest of the profession and of the business community. Lobbying is done for the profession on the state level and on the national level with WV’s Congressional Delegation. The Society’s key person program is very effective in contacting members of the WV Legislature as well as the United States Congress.

Meetings are held with key governmental departments and agencies regularly to promote a communications flow between the membership and the entities. Members frequently testify before legislative committees on topics of interest.

Reports on bills that are being considered and/or have been passed are made to the membership.
