Student Membership

Have questions about becoming a professional?

Wonder how to bridge the gap between the classroom and the office?

Let us offer you a way to bridge the gap...

Yes, I want to be part of The West Virginia Society of CPAs!
Complete the Student Membership Application.

That bridge is Student Membership in The West Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants. Here are the answers to some of the questions you may have:

How do I join?

If you are a junior, senior or graduate student with an undergraduate degree in accounting, you are eligible to join The West Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants as a Student Member. The special membership status permits students who plan to become CPAs to join their professional society and begin receiving publications and other information on their profession.

How long may I be a student member?

Your Student membership may continue for one year following graduation, at which time you may apply for associate membership, or for the duration of graduate school. Once you have passed the exam, you may apply for regular membership.

Is there a membership fee?

The Student Membership fee is $15.00 for the duration of undergraduate or graduate studies.

What are the benefits to joining?

You'll receive:

  • The West Virginia CPA, the Society's monthly newsletter;
  • Eligibility for membership in a local chapter of the Society;
  • A chance to network with CPAs at chapter and society functions; and
  • A Student Membership card
